Newton owns The Crag and occasionally gets to climb, when the sun and moon align themselves JUST SO. He has aspirations of one day being able to lead 5.12 and to travel to Heuco Tanks and actually get off the ground on a v5. He is from Tyler, TX and has lived in Nashville for almost fourteen years. During his time in Nashville, Newton has been fortunate enough to write and record 2 EPs that a few people actually purchased and enjoyed. One day he might actually pick up his guitar or sit at the piano and figure out how to become the perfect combination of Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer, Paul Westerberg and Bruce Springsteen, but for now he's eager to spread his love for all things climbing to as many people as possible while spending as much time with his wife Brooke and their four dogs.

Evan loves to take out the trash. He is also really energetic when it comes to cutting boxes. His favorite hobbies include pumping iron and long walks on the beach. Evan can often be seen helping climbers figure out tough moves on routes and problems. He sometimes forgets to take his harness off and wears it around the gym, but other than that, he is an all around elephant-juggling ninja, who can also count to seven. Evan has recently started working at The Crag as a route setter, creating fun and exciting routes that challenge both the body and the mind. If you're looking at a route from the ground and think, "what the heck is that hold doing way over THERE," chances are high that you're eyeballing Evan's newest creation (and that you're gonna have to use that hand if you're going to finish that route)!

Ashley (on the right)has super-human abilities including x-ray vision, but not laser vision. Her limbs can stretch to incredible lengths, which allows her to vacuum the bouldering cave at record speeds. She enjoys wearing socks with holes in them and her mom packs her lunch every day. She can also summon storms. Ashley is currently in Memphis attending Rhodes College, where she hopes to set all sorts of records for the Rhodes College women's soccer team. Whenever she decides to visit Nashville, she'll probably work a little bit, resuming her position as Chief Excitement Officer.

Thomas is the youngest route setter at The Crag. Despite his lack of years, he is also one of the gyms strongest climbers. Thomas thrives on a diet of Sour Patch Kids and bananas, which give him the strength to conquer the hardest boulder problems in the gym. Thomas likes to play guitar and thinks that anyone who doesnt enjoy Megadeth on occasion can't truly experience happiness. You'll see Thomas around the gym quite a bit, sometimes high in the air setting routes, other times precariously balanced on the folding ladder trying to get a hold placed JUST RIGHT.

Lokey is the official mascot of The Crag, and for good reason. Unlike Newton, she climbs all the time, and with great success. Despite the absence of opposable thumbs, Lokey has sent such classics as The Nose, Slashface and the infamous Cobra Crack in Squamish, B.C. Despite her impressive tick list, Lokey has a down to earth, low-key attitude. In fact, she really just likes hanging out in the living room with Newton and Brooke while having her belly rubbed. Consider yourself privileged if Lokey happens to be at The Crag when you visit.

(Please note: If Lokey comes up to you and starts sniffing you, she's not being rude or nosy, she's just checking your credentials.)
